Mr. Williams received assistance with car repairs

Partner: Peter Paul Development Center

Advisor: Chimere Miles

Mr. Williams is that uncle—the one who immediately springs into fix-it mode for his family. But this time, he quickly realized that age, limited tools, and the responsibility of being a devoted father to three girls made it impossible for him to handle this challenge alone. Williams began his Monday staring at a puddle of antifreeze on the floor of his vehicle. With age and limited resources, he quickly realized he would need additional support to resolve the issue. The root of the problem is a failed heater core that must be replaced in order for him to safely get back on the road.

Ms. Diane received Television; "A smart tv."

Partner: Caritas

Advisor: Donnell Wright

After navigating the heartbreak of an unexpected eviction, Ms. Diana is finally settling into a new home. As an elder managing several disabilities she refuses to let that stand in the way of her daily routine. As a person of a "no electronics left behind" mentality, Ms. Diana, on the other hand, made a compelling case for a smart TV: she needs Bluetooth compatibility so she can blast her "stories" and The Price is Right directly into her headphones. While she's thrilled to have found a landlord willing to look past her uncontrollable rental record, living in a bustling community setting has its challenges. For Ms. Diana, being able to tune out the world and tune into Drew Carey isn't just about entertainment; it's a vital coping mechanism that helps her find peace and focus with her Anxiety diagnosis in addition to her hearing. We want to make sure she can hear every "Come on down!" with crystal clarity, turning the background noise of her new neighborhood into a distant memory.
