Partner: Safe Harbor

Advisor: Cara Boim

Samantha has spent the past two years rebuilding her life with Safe Harbor after leaving an abusive relationship. Now, Samantha is ready for her next chapter: moving into her own home and starting a new life on her own terms. To celebrate her fresh start, Safe Harbor would love to give her the gift of a first month’s rent. Please consider donating to help Samantha take this important step toward a safe, stable future. Every contribution can help make her new beginning a little brighter.

Ruby received assistance with movers

Partner: Safe Harbor

Advisor: Cara Boim

Ruby came to Safe Harbor in April after escaping an abusive relationship. Since then, she has worked hard to rebuild her life with strength and determination. Her three adult children mean everything to her. After settling into the shelter, Ruby helped her daughter relocate from Roanoke to Richmond. This fall, her daughter will begin pursuing a degree to become a mental health professional by following in her mother's footsteps. Everyone at Safe Harbor is incredibly proud of the progress Ruby has made, both personally and professionally. She is now preparing for an exciting new chapter: moving into her own apartment. To make that transition possible, Ruby needs assistance hiring movers to transport her belongings from Roanoke to Richmond. Your donation can help turn this next step into a reality. Every contribution helps Ruby continue building a safe, stable future. Thank you for considering a gift to support her journey.

Ashley received assistance with an electric bill.

Partner: Henrico County Public Schools Office of Family & Community Engagement

Advisor: Alexis Miller

Ashley recently began getting back on her feet after experiencing several medical challenges and had been making progress toward financial stability. Unfortunately, she was involved in an accident at work and has since been hospitalized, causing her to fall behind on her bills, including an electric bill she had been actively paying through a payment plan. She is now behind on that payment plan and is requesting financial assistance toward her electric bill. If her power is disconnected, she may lose eligibility for the payment plan and face even greater debt when she is able to return to work.

Ms. Erica received a bus ticket.

Partner: Caritas

Advisor: Colleen McDonald

Ms. Erica is a pregnant single mother currently experiencing homelessness. The opportunity is there—but she needs help getting there. Right now, Ms. Erica cannot afford the bus ticket required to make the journey to safety and stability. Advisor: Chimere Miles

Ms. Williams is a single mother who is currently in need of assistance with her utility bill. Alice received support for a dash camera

Partner: Safe Harbor

Advisor: Cara Boim

Safe Harbor has been working with this single mother since the beginning of the summer. She has ongoing concerns about being stalked and believes that individuals have been tampering with her vehicle. Because she relies on her car to travel throughout the community for work, these concerns have created significant stress and anxiety. We are asking for the community's support in helping us purchase a dash camera for her vehicle. A dash camera would provide an added layer of security, help document any suspicious activity, and give our client greater peace of mind. Since it is not possible for her to monitor her vehicle at all times, this simple tool could make a meaningful difference in helping her feel safer while continuing to work and care for her family. Any contribution toward the purchase of a dash camera is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us support this client during a challenging time.

Tiffany received support with moving expenses

Partner: Safe Harbor

Advisor: Cara Boim

Tiffany is a mom of a beautiful 8-year-old daughter who has been struggling with finding the appropriate mental health resources after experiencing being apart from her father due to abuse. Tiffany, being the amazing mom, she is, has been trying to look for the best mental health resources for her daughter and ultimately decided that the best decision would be to relocate to North Carolina. Tiffany also suffers from a chronic illness and feels that North Carolina may be able to provide the appropriate healthcare for both her and her daughter. Due to this condition, employment is hard to maintain and the main source of income comes from government benefits. This leaves Tiffany needing extra support to afford the costs of hiring movers since her condition makes it hard to do the move on her own. We are requesting $500 to cover the deposit of the movers to help Tiffany and her daughter start their new adventure in their new home in North Carolina.
