After receiving support from families and congregations, she finds herself soon to lose her storage unit which contains her final belongings after bouncing between rooms to rent, couches, and her car. Upon working with her CARITAS case manager, she identified a voucher-based housing program to which she will soon transition. Supporting this need helps that transition to housing come with the memories she has of her family and friends.

Ms. Cartagena relies on electricity to properly store her insulin in the refrigerator and to power her nebulizer for her evening breathing treatments. A loss of electricity would create a serious health risk and could negatively impact her ability to manage her medical conditions. Ms. Cartagena is seeking assistance to prevent utility disconnection and maintain access to these essential, life-sustaining resources.
