Ms. Yvette has mutliple physical health conditions which limit her ability to work and maintain her bills. After receiving support from families and congregations, she finds herself soon to lose her storage unit which contains her final belongings after bouncing between rooms to rent, couches, and her car. Upon working with her CARITAS case manager, she identified a voucher-based housing program to which she will soon transition. Supporting this need helps that transition to housing come with the memories she has of her family and friends.

Ms. Krista recently moved out of shelter into a place on her own. After working with the case management team to obtain a new job, pay off arrears, and obtain benefits, she now finds herself unable to balance both rent and furnishing her apartment. This support would allow Ms. Krista to make her new apartment feel like a home instead of a source of isolation, allowing her to continue fighting depression and fear.

I am writing to request $250.00 in funding to help Ms. Huff purchase essential items through the CARITAS Furniture Bank. Ms. Huff is a participant at The Healing Place at CARITAS and is currently transitioning into permanent housing. Ms. Huff has participated in our program for two years and has worked hard to overcome significant obstacles. While she is excited to move into her new home and reunite with her child, the costs associated with move-in fees have left her without the funds needed to furnish her residence.
