Ms. Krista began experiencing homelessness after a back injury followed by a coma prevented her ability to work in 2021. After several months of physical therapy and using a rollator, she has made significant progress in her health. Since arriving to our shelter, she has secured her dream job as a security guard where she can work comfortably with great benefits. Due to the distance of her work, she purchased a car. Now she needs car insurance before she can pick up the car. To continue her momentum of success, she is asking the community to assist in purchasing car insurance. This will do wonders for her long-term stability for her employment and her future housing.

Before Ms. Karla came to our shelter, she was the caregiver for her elderly father for 13 years until he passed away from dementia at 90 years old. Her family then had to sell the home Karla was living in to pay off her father's debts. Now she is juggling recent health concerns, homelessness, and re-entering the workforce. Any assistance she receives for her storage will help her hold on to cherished mementos and ease her future transition into housing.

Mr. Blair is a 59-year-old male who is experiencing homelessness after losing his afterschool job in the Virginia Beach area. After losing his job, he moved to Richmond because of the availability of single men shelters in the area. He needs his storage locker fee paid because he is in default and all of his possessions are located in the storage. He is currently seeking employment in the area and wants to establish an after-school program to teach students in the area about his love for the game of chess. He is a truly motivated individual and would love to share his knowledge with minors in the area alongside obtaining permanent housing when he obtains a full-time employment. A gift from the Giving Wall will assist him in obtaining one more month so that he can keep his only possessions and be able to move his things out of storage once he finds employment.
