Last April I became displaced when my rent in Tappahannock, Virginia was raised by $350. Once displaced my husband left me in a dangerous living situation. I lost property but not my self-respect. I strive to be an example to my three children. I am asking for an Amtrak or Greyhound ticket and a motel to stay at close to Fannie Lou Hamer Middle School where I am presenting a Demo lesson. Mary and her mother currently reside at Safe Harbor's transitional shelter while Mom works and saves up for them to become independent. The School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC) was generous enough to give Mary a 95% off scholarship and we are hoping that Giving Wall can make up the difference.
